Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Claim French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the showdown between the French league winners and the Coupe de France winners after the French winger found the net early on.

Yet, Marseille struck twice late to seize a surprise advantage. First, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital leveler in the final moments to force the match into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping decisive kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to seal a 4-1 penalty victory.

The record winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the last thirteen seasons.
